Fund advised by EB-SIM invests in two German photovoltaic projects

An Article 9 fund advised by EB-SIM is buying two photovoltaic parks in Germany as part of a share deal. Both projects have a combined capacity of around 100 megawatts. The investment is secured for 20 years with a fixed feed-in tariff in accordance with the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).

  • EB-SIM continues to grow in Germany
  • Both projects have a combined capacity of around 100 megawatts
  • Purchase of electricity secured for 20 years at fixed conditions in accordance with the EEG

“By managing the acquisition of the two plants, EB-SIM is continuing its dynamic growth trajectory,” says Bernhard Graeber, Managing Director and Head of Alternative Assets at EB-SIM. “With these new investments, we are further expanding our Europe-wide expertise in the field of renewable energies. We now manage investments in more than 50 projects with a total capacity of around 3 gigawatts in Germany and seven other European countries. We are thus creating financial return opportunities for our customers and at the same time making a positive contribution to the energy transition.”

The solar parks are located in Titz, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Friedland, Lower Saxony. The park in Titz has an output of 17.2 megawatts. The plant will go into operation at the turn of the year. The plant in Friedland has an output of 80.3 megawatts. It is expected to be connected to the grid in late summer 2025.

The overall project produces enough electricity each year to supply over 15,000 four-person households. This avoids CO2 equivalents of around 37,000 tons compared to energy generation from fossil fuels. The overall project is classified as compliant with the EU taxonomy as it makes a significant contribution to climate protection and adaptation to climate change. It complies with the “Do No Significant Harm” criteria and the “Minimum Safeguards”. Overall, the project contributes to five of the 17 United Nations Sustainable DevelopmentGoals (SDGs).

Both parks will be equipped with state-of-the-art modules and inverters. In Titz, 28,000 modules have already been installed. In Friedland, 130,000 panels are being installed.

The seller is solar-konzept GmbH, which is constructing the turnkey plants. Christoph Schmitt, Managing Director of solar-konzept GmbH, comments on the deal: “With these projects, we are actively contributing to the energy transition and creating future-proof energy infrastructure. The cooperation with EB-SIM shows how important strong and reliable partnerships are for the successful implementation of such projects.”
